چکیده

ABSTRACT The emergence of livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains (LA-MRSA) and the potential role pigs in evolution these has led to increased interest research microorganisms. However, this contributed a lack isolation characterization methicillin-susceptible S. (MSSA). In study, prevalence nursery finishing stages were analyzed. susceptibility profiles antibiotics, tolerance heavy metals, biofilm production isolates evaluated using phenotypic genotypic techniques. A total 1,250 colonies suggestive spp. isolated from 128 pigs, which 63.6% (n = 795) belonged microbial genus. Sixty-seven 34 animals (26.5%) confirmed as (8.4%). No resistant copper, zinc, or methicillin detected; however, all presented resistance profile at least three different classes antimicrobials 21 produced biofilms. These data are concern, they indicate need for surveillance use well reinforce importance studies on MSSA strains.

Staphylococcus aureus virulence factors and disease

The genus Staphylococcus is composed of Gram-positive bacteria with diameters of 0.5-1.5 μm, characterized by individual cocci that divide in more than one plane to form grape-like clusters [1]. These bacteria are non-motile, nonspore forming facultative anaerobes, featuring a complex nutritional requirement for growth [2-4], a low G+C content of DNA (in the range of 30-40 mol%) [5], a toleranc...

Virulence Factors of Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Korean Pork bulgogi: Enterotoxin Production and Antimicrobial Resistance

The aim of this study was to investigate the antimicrobial resistance profiles of and the enterotoxin gene distribution in 4 strains of Staphylococcus aureus (S10-2, S10-3, S12-2, and S13-2) isolated from 90 bulgogi samples. The S. aureus enterotoxin H gene (seh) was found in all the strains, while the S. aureus enterotoxin A gene (sea) was found only in 3 of the 4 strains. The S10-2 strain exp...

Meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from Iranian hospitals: virulence factors and antibiotic resistance properties.

Staphylococcus aureus is an important opportunistic pathogen responsible for a variety of diseases. Indiscriminate prescription of antibiotics caused severe antibiotic resistance especially against commonly used drugs. The present investigation was carried out to study the distribution of Panton-Valentine Leukocidin gene, SCCmec types and antibiotic resistance properties of meticillin-resistant...
